ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDDERS

Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Flowery Branch, Hall County, Georgia at the Flowery Branch City Hall, 5517 Main Street, Georgia 30542 until:

1:00 P.M. Local Time on February 27, 2018

for the Project known as:

City of Flowery Branch - WWTP Effluent Discharge Force Main Replacement  

at which time and place the proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud.  Proposals received after the designated time will not be considered and returned unopened.  The OWNER of the project is the City of Flowery Branch.  The ENGINEER for the project is McKim & Creed, Inc. 

The Project generally consists of the following major items:

This project consists of replacement of portion of the existing “Outfall” force main with approximately 550 feet of new 16-inch HDPE force main including associated fittings and 255 feet of 20-inch protective steel casing under Norfolk-Southern railroad track.

Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same.

Bidding Documents may be obtained from the issuing office, McKim & Creed, 365 Northridge Road, Suite 200, Atlanta, Georgia 30350, upon payment of $50 per half sized copy and digital copy on a DVD. No refund will be made for returned documents. The OWNER is not obligated to consider a bidder’s proposal, if bidder is not on record with the issuing office as having received complete Bidding Documents.

A non-mandatory Pre-Bid Conference will be held on Tuesday January 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m., local time at the City of Flowery Branch Wastewater Treatment Plant located at 5572 Atlanta Hwy, Flowery Branch, Ga. 30542.

The time allowed for Substantial Completion is 75  days, and the time allowed for completion and readiness for final payment is 90 days from the date of commencement.

Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the OWNER in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount. 

The successful bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional Bond(s) as described in the Bidding Documents.

All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for sixty days after the day of the Bid opening, but OWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and re-advertise.

Each Bid must be accompanied by qualification documents as described in the bid documents.  Before a Contract will be awarded for the work proposed herein, the Owner will conduct such additional investigations as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low Bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract.  Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such additional information as deemed necessary by the Owner to further evaluate the Bidder’s qualificaitons.
