ADVERTISEMENT FOR BIDDERS

 

Sealed Bids will be received by the City of Flowery Branch, Georgia, 5410 W. Pine Street, Flowery Branch, Georgia 30542 until:

2:00P.M.., Local Time on Thursday, July 7, 2022

for the Project known as: City of Flowery Branch, Georgia Elevated Water Tank 1 Improvements BID #22-008

at which time and place the proposals will be publicly opened and read aloud. Proposals received after the designated time will not be considered and returned unopened. The OWNER of the project is the City of Flowery Branch, Georgia. The ENGINEER for the project is Infratec Consultants, Inc.

The Project generally consists of the following major items:

  • Construct a new 250,000-gallon spheroid type elevated water tank, ductile iron water piping, site grading, fencing, erosion control including electrical modifications and miscellaneous appurtenances.

Bidders shall inform themselves concerning Georgia Laws and comply with same.

Complete electronic (PDF) sets of Bidding Documents may be obtained from the issuing office, Infratec Consultants Inc, 310 Saddle Hill Ct.., Roswell, Georgia 30075, upon payment of $100.00 for plans and specifications. Return of the Documents is not required, and the payment is non-refundable. The OWNER is not obligated to consider a bidder’s proposal, if bidder is not on record with the issuing office as having received complete Bidding Documents.

Contractors may contact City of Flowery Branch personnel for additional information and to schedule a site visit.

The time allowed for Substantial Completion each tank is 360 days, and the time allowed for completion and readiness for final payment is 390 days from the date of commencement.

Each Bid must be accompanied by a Bid Bond with good and sufficient surety or sureties approved by the owner for faithful acceptance of the contract, payable to, in favor of, and for the protection of the OWNER in an amount equivalent to five percent (5%) of the total amount payable by the terms of the contract or, in lieu thereof, a certified check, cashier's check, or cash in equal amount.

The successful bidder will be required to furnish the necessary additional Bond(s) as described in the Bidding Documents.

All Bids will remain subject to acceptance for ninety days after the day of the Bid opening, but OWNER may, in its sole discretion, release any Bid and return the Bid security prior to that date.

The Owner reserves the right to reject any or all Bids, to waive informalities and re-advertise.

Before a Contract will be awarded for the work proposed herein, the Owner will conduct such additional investigations as is necessary to determine the performance record and ability of the apparent low Bidder to perform the size and type of work specified under this Contract. Upon request, the Bidder shall submit such additional information as deemed necessary by the Owner to further evaluate the Bidder’s qualifications. The Project, if awarded, will be to the lowest qualified Bidder or Bidders.

There will be a Non-Mandatory Pre-bid conference to be held at the existing Tank Site on Gainesville Street, at 11:00 A.M., local time, on Monday, June 20, 2022.
