With the resignation of Mary Jones on December 31, 2018 Council Seat Post 2 became vacant and is scheduled to be filled through a Special Election to be held on June 18, 2019.
Qualifying will begin April 15, 2019 (8:30 am) and end on April 17, 2019 (4:30 pm). Packets for qualifying will be available April 1, 2019 at the office of the City Clerk.
The cost for qualifying is $144.00.
In order to qualify to run for a vacant City Council Seat you must:
- Live in the city limits of Flowery Branch for at least one year and maintain residency in Flowery Branch during the term.
- Registered Voter
After the election, the elected candidate's ceremonial swearing in will be at the July 18, 2019 Council Meeting. ( no meeting the 4th of July)The term for this position will end on December 31, 2019 and for the individual to remain seated after December 31, 2019 they would need to qualify and be successfully elected in the November 5, 2019 General Election.
The election will be held at the Flowery Branch City Hall, 5410 W. Pine Street, Flowery Branch, GA. 30542
Early Voting will be held at the Flowery Branch City Hall until June 14, 2019 at 4:30.
