Redevelopment Powers Law Informational Meeting
Published: 08-23-2007
August 14, 2007 - To the Residents of the City of Flowery Branch: The City of Flowery Branch invites all interested parties to attend one of two informational meetings to be held August 28, 2007 or September 13, 2007. Both meetings will be held at City Hall, 5517 Main Street and will begin at 6:00 p.m. The purpose of the meetings will be to give the residents of Flowery Branch factual information about the Redevelopment Powers Law. The City will explain the upcoming Special Election at which this question will be voted upon: Shall the Act be approved which authorizes the City of Flowery Branch to exercise redevelopment powers under the Redevelopment Powers Law, as it may be amended from time to time? If approved, these redevelopment powers may be used to create a Tax Allocation District and request consent from the Hall County Board of Education and the Hall County Board of Commissioners. Funds from a Tax Allocation District may be utilized for infrastructure and other public improvements like the expansion of the City of Flowery Branch Wastewater Treatment Plant and the rehabilitation of the Historic District of Flowery Branch. The special election will be held September 18, 2007 from City Hall between the hours of 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. As always, the City hopes you will attend one of our public meetings and cast your vote September 18th, 2007. Sincerely, Mayor Diane Hirling |
