Read Across America Week with Mayor Hirling

On March 7, 2008 Mayor Hirling helped Flowery Branch Elementary School Kindergarten students learn what an important role reading has in our everyday lives. Mayor Hirling read a book to each of the six classes and answered questions such as “What does a Mayor do?” “Why did you become Mayor?” and “Is it hard being Mayor?”

The Mayor, on behalf of the City of Flowery Branch would like to extend a thanks to the teachers at Flowery Branch Elementary School for their dedication, time and investment in the future of our youth!

Special thanks go out to the Kindergarten teachers for allowing the City the opportunity to be a part of “Read Across America” program!
