Georgia Municipal Association 6th grader Essay Contest

GMA (Georgia Municipal Association) invites 6th grade students throughout Georgia to participate in a statewide essay contest - "If I Were Mayor I would..." The contest gives students a chance to creatively use grade-specific language arts skills and civics/social studies knowledge. See our flyer on this contest. [pdf]

One winning essay will be selected from each of GMA's 12 districts. Winners will receive a $250 savings bond and other prizes. The winners, along with their parents and a teacher, will be recognized at an awards luncheon during April, 2007. Essays must be received by GMA no later than March 2, 2007. Winners will be notified by the end of March.
