Mayor Chooses 2007 Christmas Cards

Last year the City of Flowery Branch began working with West Hall Middle School and Ms. Jeannie Sandoval’s 8th grade Art Class in designing a Christmas Card for the City. The students were given class time to draw as to how they thought Downtown Flowery Branch should look for the holidays. This year the Mayor included C.W. Davis Middle School and Ms. Crystal Brigman’s 8th Grade Class in the creation of the Flowery Branch Christmas Card. Mayor Hirling decided that since both schools submitted such a wonderful group of drawings she chose the picture that best depicted a festive downtown from each school. The chosen pictures are then sent to Georgia Printing and made into the City Christmas Card. These cards are sent all over the State. The City is proud to print on the back of the card the designers name, school and teachers name. The students are not told which the winning drawing was until the Mayor arrived at the school to present the winner with a framed card and certificate. The Mayor also includes a special note on the back of the card, a plaque to the class/school for participation and cupcakes for the entire class. The winning drawings this year were West Hall Middle School, Nathalie Brock and C.W. Davis Zach Miller. Hats off to Nathalie and Zach for a job well done!!
