Flowery Branch Police Department Receive Tracking Device
Published: 06-18-2008
At the June 18th Council Meeting, Linda Buffington of the Pilot Club of Gainesville presented Chief Gerald Lanich with a tracking devise for Project Lifesaver ID bracelets. This is the very first system put into place in Hall County. People enrolled in this program wear a personalized bracelet that emits a tracking signal. Caregivers can call 911 and let them know that a person is missing. Search times have been reduced from hours and days to minutes with this tracking device. Recovery times average less than 30 minutes. Members of the Project Lifesaver team are specially trained, not only in the use of the electronic tracking equipment but especially in the methods to communicate with a person who has Alzheimer’s disease or related disorders. The City of Flowery Branch is extremely proud of receiving this lifesaving gift from the Pilot Club of Gainesville. If you have a loved one you need to protect or desire more information about Project Lifesaver, please call Linda Buffington at 770-532-7392 or Chief Gerald Lanich at 770-967-6336.
