City Council to Hold Retreat Mar 21-22

In an historic move, the City Council and Senior Staff of the City of Flowery Branch will hold their first retreat ever. The retreat, scheduled for Monday, March 21, 2005 from 1-5 and Tuesday, March 22, 2005 from 8-4, will be held at the City’s historic Depot. The meeting will be facilitated by Jim Durrett of the Urban Land Institute in Atlanta. Topics on the agenda for this first retreat include:

  1. Zoning for Flowery Branch’s future.
  2. What will Flowery Branch look like in 20 years?
  3. What do we need to do to attract more commercial development?
  4. Do we need to purchase more land for government facilities?
  5. Pursuing an aggressive annexation policy.
  6. Organizational Map and Delineation of Duties

The public is invited to attend and watch the proceedings. Time will also be made available for public comments during the meeting.
