City Council Improves Meeting Format
Published: 03-10-2005
The City Council voted unanimously on March 10, 2005 to amend the way it conducts business. The change, according to City Management, is to allow more time for thoughtful consideration of major issues and to permit the citizens of Flowery Branch time to contemplate the issues and decide on whether they wish to address the Council. Under the new format, which begins in April, the meeting held on the second Thursday of the month (still at 6:00 p.m. and still at City Hall), will be devoted entirely to an informal work session in which the Council members will speak openly and honestly about topics, but no vote shall be taken. At the second meeting of the month, held on the fourth Thursday, the Council will hold a normal voting session on which they cast their votes for the items on the Agenda. |
