Modernizing a City

Published:  01-31-2005

The City Council and senior staff members have set out to modernize the City of Flowery Branch to ensure that it can meet the needs of the 10,000+ residents expected to call Flowery Branch home as early as 2010. While it is no small task to handle growth of this scale, the professionalism and experience of the Council and staff will make it easier. Already, the Council has begun work on a brand new Comprehensive Plan, initiated a bottom-up review of its Zoning and Development Ordinances, and made a change to the City Charter to help the city operate more efficiently. These steps are only the beginning, it isn't as though we have a choice - the growth is coming. We're just so glad to be in a community with a progressive City Council that is more than ready for the challenges which await us.
