City Hires Planning and Community Development Director

In December, City Management announced the hiring of James Riker as the City's first Planning and Community Development Director. James comes to Flowery Branch from the Planning Department of the City of Pico Rivera in Los Angeles County, California, and his experience with planning and community development is extensive. James holds a Master of Planning in Urban Planning and Development from the University of Southern California (USC), as well as a Bachelor of Science Degree in Urban and Regional Planning from California State Polytechnic University. Mr. Riker will be intensively involved in all phases of planning, zoning, and building development in the City of Flowery Branch. In the words of numerous members of the City Council, "we're very lucky to have him."
