FLOWERY BRANCH - Flowery Branch city officials learned Thursday night that their town is not holding out the welcome mat for out of town drug dealers. Police Chief Gerald Lanich reported twenty-eight drug arrests in the city last month, thirteen of them were felony drug arrests. "That's an awesome number of arrests for these officers, for eight officers to make in a month," the Chief said. Lanich reported 14 drug arrests for the month of June. Lanich added that Flowery Branch's road structure with its main highway arteries made the city a convenient place for drug activity but the police would stay on the alert with stepped up patroling. Officer Eric Cook was named Employee of the Month largely for his anti-drug police work.
