Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem Larry Pritchett Reaches Training Milestone

On Monday, June 27, 2005, Flowery Branch Councilman and Mayor Pro Tem was recognized by the Georgia Municipal Association (GMA) with its prestigious Certificate of Achievement. According to GMA officials, this certificate represents significant achievement by an elected official. In fact, it is unheard of for a first-term Councilman to achieve this award “ a sign that this elected leader of Flowery Branch is dedicated in representing the people very seriously!
 | Councilman Pritchett with Certificate. | In order to earn this award, one must follow this agenda:Certificate of RecognitionA mayor or council member who began in the Institute prior to July 1, 1991, must complete at least 42 units of training from the courses offered through the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute for Elected Officials. Those who began after July 1, 1991, must complete at least 42 units including three of the five required courses and the state mandated Newly Elected Officials Institute. A maximum of six units of credit is given for participation in each course. Certificate of AchievementElected officials who complete 30 additional units of training after receiving the Certificate of Recognition. This certificate represents 72 units of voluntary training.
