She joined the Tomato Club, later called the Home Extension Club, and now called the Flowery Branch Homemakers Club. She received her 50 year pen several years ago and was twice named the Homemaker of the Year. Her home has been the location of the Club’s semi annual Cake Sale for many years.
Her Duke Family Cookbook was published in 1997, where her many recipes can be found.
Ms. Annie quilted and donated a quilt that is being raffled off by the Flowery Branch Homemakers’ Club.
When asked about what she does to keep busy and mentally alert she said she likes reading the Bible, The Times, and other articles, as well as talking on the phone.
Ms. Annie advised she stays physically fit by walking around her house, through all the rooms and down the long hall that divides the historic home
Ms. Annie’s advice on Husbands, Take care of them. Her hobbies include gardening and quilt making.
